Looking for some help. Every day I get an infection notification on my MacBook Pro (running macOS Seirra and Avast Free) for JS:ScriptSH-inf [Trj].
Any suggestions for permanently removing this infection.
There’s two things you can do. Either run a few anti-malware programs to see if they’d find something or reinstall the OS.
what does the avast message say? all info, you may post a screenshot
Here is a screenshot.
Do you have another AV installed ?.. ClamAV
There can be only one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqcLjcSloXs
Why Using Multiple Antivirus Programs is a Bad Idea

I have a VM running Windows with Microsoft Security Essentials, but this has been the case for years with no issues. No other AV software on my mac.
your screenshot say clamxav.app https://www.clamxav.com/
So if you have leftovers after previous installed AV then you need to remove
Or third and best option. Get info before you do anything stupid
Found the old Clamxav program, which wasn’t running (no reference found in Activity Monitor), and deleted it. Will see if that solves the problem.
Thank you.
