Magic Jack

This is for people who may have had problems with Magic Jack.
I had mentioned before that I had it installed on my Dell Vista laptop with no problems. It is on a wireless system through a router and sometimes the people that I am calling have trouble hearing me. I have no such problems hearing them.
I couldn’t install it on my desktop machine without many problems, so through a forum I found that some other CD/DVD applications could be causing these problems. I uninstalled the Nero application from my desktop machine and now MagicJack installed correctly (I still have Roxio Easy CD creator 5). I had an external DVD player connected to this machine. This machine is connected to my cable broadband connection by a network cable, and that seems to improve the quality of the calls. It also means I can carry my laptop around without worrying about breaking off the Magic Jack in the USB port.
If anyone else has had these problems, I hope this helps.
I got rid of my landline finally and that has saved me a lot of money. I sometimes wonder how these landline phone companies are going to survive unless they go into the broadband service.

Hi Roro,
I also had problems connecting it to my main computer (Desktop XP SP3).
The usb connection kept getting disconnected.
I now have it connected through my Dell Vostro ( Laptop Windows 7 RC ) without any problems.
Haven’t had any complaints from any one regarding communication problems.
