Hello, I was recently running Spybot Search and Destroy and it found an entry called MagicAntiSpy.
I don’t recall ever downloading this MagicAntiSpy, but was not sure if it already comes with Windows Vista or was in one of the Vista Service Packs or Microsoft Malicious Tools thing.
The Registry entry is this:
(SB1 $168DEDBD) User Settings
HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-895528677-3232199720-2742251202-1000\Software\Security Tools
Can someone tell me if this is safe to delete using Spybot Search and Destroy? Is it a critical Windows Vista program?
I don’t want my system to start acting weird if I delete it.
Lets put it this way, if you didn’t install it or have any recollection of it, whether malware or not you don’t want it on your system. A google search for http://www.google.com/search?q=MagicAntiSpy tends to say it is a rogue program and I would let S&D remove it.
These tools also specialise in removal of these rogue programs:
MalwareBytes Anti-Malware freeware version http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/malwarebytes/mbam-setup.exe, right click on the link and select Save As or Save File (As depending on your browser), save it to a location where you can find it easily later.

Vista already has enough troubles. It doesn't need to be blamed for something you installed.
This is definitely not something that came with Vista.
