Mail & Network Shield not running on Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials

I have Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials running as a domain controller & file server with 20 or so machines hooked up to it, it is also running a DHCP server, but I noticed on the avast client it does not have the Mail or Network Shield in the security summary.

I can understand the mail shield as there is no mail server or client on this machine, but shouldn’t the Network shield be showing up and running? This is on Avast Endpoint Protection Suite Plus, the SOA console is also running on this machine, but that shouldn’t matter, maybe I’m missing something?

Thanks!

Dear FooFoodar,

You never use the avast! network shield on a server! I go into greater clarity here on this issue:

Thanks for the link, I’ll check it out, I figured that was the case, but I wanted to verify.
