Mail problem

Hi,
After upgrading to version 5 (free) a while back, the first time I checked my mail I got this message:

“avast has detected a secure connection from your mail program (process WinMail.exe) to the POP server 68.142.206.218 (yahoo.com).”

“This type of connection cannot be checked for viruses. Please disable SSL/TLS in your mail client so that the Mail Scanner can scan your mail. The Mail Scanner will provide the SSL/TLS security itself.”

I’ve looked at all my mail settings and can’t find where to disable SSL/TLS. Can someone please tell me how to do this. (not too complicated please)

I have Windows Vista and use “Windows Mail” to get my mail from Bellsouth/AT&T powered by Yahoo Mail

or…does Yahoo Mail provide virus protection for my email, so do I even need avast to do it?

Many thanks for your help.

Instead of enabling it, you must disable SSL/TLS. The guide is for enabling, but it shows where to search.

Untick the two “SSL” boxes and click on “use defaults”

Thank you Zyndstoff,
That did it.
I appreciate you taking the time to help me.

No problem.
