Mail scanner alert

Hi guys,

I am presently using avast 4.8 proffesional.
yesterday I was browsing the net and after few minutes avast alerted me regarding some “possible” infection.
after that I used scan for all night and they found 2 infected files .
since then I still receive alerts regarding MAIL SCANNER
(in my right corner is little sign for mail:avast mail scanner: qtplugin.exe- email@ )
it shows me different email adresses every time…

I used avast scanner, adaware , spybot (which found win32.we… .sh trojan with HOTKEY file which I remove it)… and still there is that sign in the corner and periodically it alerts me on diff posible infection.

after i made restart of the system, now avast is working in SAFE WINDOWS mode and scaning again.
presently has found CHM archive corupted in system volume information/restore x 4 files

(i am using laptopt to go online while avast scan my PC , so maybe few new files will occure as corupted…

What should I do? Bear in mind I am just an average user.

here is something :
when I open On- accesS scanner:
INTERNET MAIL

avast is scanning mails which doesnt belong to me, from somebody to others and replies … When I open my outlook, there arent any of these email msgs???

did I pick up something which took over my outlook and now manages others emails?

Welcome to the forums, dobriduh11 :slight_smile:

It may be that you have somehow gotten an email bot.
Have you checked the the Mail Shield in the avast UI? Does it show any activity?

as far as I know, everything is working
when I right click icon “a” it opens on INTERNET MAIL, and I can see counter of scanned mails, sensitivity is on high and I put yesterday to silent and check in Heuristics to delete/deny access

I also noticed that I have 8 providers, but 7 running ?

where can I check UI setings?

I got lucky.

I found that I have SPAMBOT and found software called EXTERMINATE IT and he cure my problems for now…

never heard of it....... I recomend you try this

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.46 http://filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
always run update before you scan so that you have latest database
click the remove selected button to quarantine anything found
you may post the scan log here
