This morning after successfully sending two emails, I received a message saying the connection to my server had been lost when I tired to send a third email. The only thing I new to do was reboot, which I did. This did not correct the problem.
I called my ISP tech support and found that my incoming and outgoing mail servers had been changed.
After correcting them, I asked the tech support person how this could happen.
He said my anti-virus program did it.
I do not know if he is correct or not.
Is this something that routinely happens?
Is there a solution if I find this to continue to happen?
I am using Version 4.6 Home Edition.

As is explained in the help file as well as in many threads on this board, Avast need to change that in order to scan your mail. I suggest you setup the mail protection again.
Please tell me where to go to learn how to set up my mail protection again.
-
Start > All Programs > avast Anti-Virus > Help - Resident Protection - Internet Mail provider Settings.
