Mail Shield Blocks Outlook Email

Since updating to version 17.8.2318 build 17.8.3705.249 this weekend, Outlook mail will not send or receive messages to/from Gmail accounts when Mail Shield is active. Works fine when Mail Shield is turned off or if I turn off the Firewall is turned off. Please fix and advise. Avast Internet Security on Windows 10 PC.

Well i got news for you, i dont work for avast :P

Mea culpa. I did get the wrong number. Avast update broke- Avast should fix. Wonder if they read their forums.

Hi jsubs – if Pondus’s link isn’t helpful (changing the Firewall to “private” mode) then I would try clearing your Firewall rules, and upon next run of Outlook, ensure that you are allowing the app through the firewall as a safe app. It sounds like Firewall is blocking the connection in error.
