Mail Shield Statistics

I use;
Outlook 2007
Free Avast 6.0.1203
Mail Shield reports number of emails scanned. I cannor reconcile the number reported with what is in Outlook - have checked all folders. ::slight_smile:

The numbers relate to real-time scanning of email sent or received and is only for that particular session. Once you either restart avast or the system the count would start from zero.

Thanks for responding.
Mail Shield stats tell me that for a given 24hr period Avast scanned 256 messages. In outlook (all folders) for the same period 53 messages were sent and or received. If I believe the numbers I LOST 203 messages somewhere.

Not necessarily as the Mail Shield would also be monitoring any NNTP connections, do you use any ?

Also do you use any P2P application ?
As strange as that may seem some actually communicate using email ports and the Mail Shield would still be trying to monitor those connections.

So not quite as simple as it seems.

I would also suggest that you set the Mail Shield to High sensitivity.
