Mailbird Email Issue

I have Version 23.3.6 of Avast premium and use Mailbird email client. I’ve been having issues where sporadically, some emails upon being sent (not all but 10-20%) of my emails stay in the 'drafts folder of my email client. I then have to click on ‘send’ from there for them to actually be sent. Then other times some get stuck in ‘sending’ and never get sent. In this I have to literally redo my email and resend. Also I can’t delete the emails stuck in, ‘being sent’ or the ‘drafts’ folder without the need to restart my computer. Upon restarting I can easily clear them from the ‘sending’ folder and ‘drafts’.

I have sent Avast my log file and the ISP setting are correct. They suggested I turn off my Avast to see it it made a difference, and I turned it off, and it don’t make any difference, the issue still remains. I also added ‘mailbird’ app as ‘allowed’ in Avast and still the issue remains.

Please help with how to fix this issue.

I wonder if you are having similar problem we have with Thunderbird regarding outbound email scanning: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=322316.msg1698432#msg1698432

If you are still running Avast, try turning off “scan outgoing emails (SMTP)” in Avast Settings and see if that work-round helps.

Where do I find this option in Avast settings? I looked for it but can’t find it anywhere?

You should find it by opening the Avast user interface,
then
Menu>Settings>Protection>Core Shields>
Scroll down to “Configure shield settings”
then
Mail Shield>Scan outbound emails (SMTP)
untick that.

Thank you for this, I did as you instructed, but it has not fixed the issue, so the problem remains. Any other suggestions?

Just a thought. If you are using Avast Firewall. Check that set to “Private” (not “Public”).

If you have turned off Avast shields and still have the problem then maybe the problem is not Avast.
To confirm that it is Avast that is affecting Mailbird by process of elimination, use avastclear.exe to uninstall Avast.
See if Mailbird then functions correctly with no Avast present.

I with “eM Client” with mail accounts configured with IMAP4 I have no problem.

I went into my settings to do this but can;'t find the options to turn to private, can you please show where it is?

And what does turning it to private instead of public do?
