I just put Avast on this old HP computer, it was really slow, and right now its only at 1% full scan, it fould 17 infected files! :o And while it is scanning, warning after warning keep coming up about malware, and rootkits, I don’t even have time to read them, there are too many, just one after the other. :o :o The scan speed is 9.5 MB per second, is this slow? It just slowed down after the warnings. All the infected files are .dll files.
It slowed down because avast! is designed to switch into thorough mode if any or when infection is found, because ther eis a chance something else is hiding as well…
After a virus is caught, the scanning goes to “paranoid” mode.
