I’ll start off with the specs:
i7-6000k
ASUS z170-a
16GB Corsair Vengeance
Corsair H100i GTX
EVGA 980ti
EVGA SuperNova 850w GS
Samsung 840 EVO 256GB
Windows 10 Enterprise retail
Now I’ve installed this exact same copy of windows 10 on 3 other computers already, and Avast runs just fine. However on this new skylake system I just built, it crashes windows every. single. time. I literally boot the system up, install the ethernet drivers, install avast (just the file shield, I uncheck EVERYTHING else) and WHAM jibbered. After installation Avast takes about 5min to actually start up (welcome to avast! sound) but the shield doesn’t work. So I restart and I get a computer did not restart properly message, the only thing I can do to get it to boot properly is rollback or reinstall windows. Has anyone else had this problem? I’ve installed avast the exact same way on the exact same copy of windows on haswell and core2duo systems multiple times, so I assume this has something to do with the skylake chipset.
