Some how I ended up with some kind of pop up virus on my computer that kept logging on to explorer and then crashing. Through advice from a friend he suggested I download and run avast. After running the scan and transfering all infected files into chest, I have many area of my system that won’t run, or only run part way. My system restore won’t even open. What can I do???

Will you let us know your operating system, what files were infected and what malware was found?
Have (or did) you have another AV installed in this system, if so what and how did you get rid of it ?
Can you boot in Safe Mode and restore the infected files from Chest and then boot the computer normally.
Schedule a boot time scanning with avast and clean (disable then enable again) your System Restore?
