Major Problem

I installed Avast and it asked me to run it at next start up, so I did that. It found a file, unfortantely I can’t remember the name, that was infected and I wasn’t sure whether the file was needed, but told it to delete all. Now my internet has “limited or no connectivety” and I have no clue what was deleted. Is there a way to restore it through the chest, even thought it only has the kernell and wnsock files there?
Or should I atempt to diagnose the internet problem seperate from the Avast. Besides that the only other choices I have are to call a professional or start getting ready to reinstall windows.

The better is always send the infected files to Chest and do not delete them…

Which firewall do you use?
If you Google Winsock keyword you’ll find some tools to correct problems with connectivity.

No. You can only restore files that you send to Chest and not the files you’ve deleted.

Overinstallation can solve the problem and you won’t lose your programs, settings, data, files, etc.
Just choose ‘Repair’ installation of Windows and install ‘over’ the old installation.

If you’re using Windows XP, you could also try using System Restore to restore your system to an earlier time
prior to running the scan.
No guarantees but certainly worth a try.
