I’ve tried logging out logging in but each time I click show unread posts this, screenshot, shows I need to log in when I’m already logged in. I’ve cleared the cache but that didn’t work. What can I do to fix this?

If you look closely, the message about the login is a news message, not a message saying you need to login again.

Something is messed up because under forum settings there is nothing showing look and layout therefore I can’t change any settings.
I have no idea where you are looking, but the only users unable to change many profile settings are those with less than 20 posts.
All it shows under profile is account settings, forum profile, set password. Was unable to get a screenshot.
profile > account settings > now on left side … modify profile > look and layout in dropp down menu
