I’m a heavy simmer/gamer. I need my Avast Pro resident protection to ignore many locations because flight sim games constantly load GBs and GBs of files.
I tried click avast icon. customize standard shield. advanced. add list of locations that will not be scanned. added my flight sim directory. clicked ok
however, i told avast to give me detailed descrip of everything being scanned just to check and files from my game directory are still being scanned as they are loaded/accessed.
For the Standard Shield provider (on-access scanning):
Left click the ‘a’ blue icon, click on the provider icon at left and then Customize.
Go to Advanced tab and click on Add button…
For the other providers (on-demand scanning such as the screen-saver or the Simple User Interface):
Right click the ‘a’ blue icon, click Program Settings.
Go to Exclusions tab and click on Add button…
You can use wildcards like * and ?.
But be careful, you should ‘exclude’ that many files that let your system in danger.
But the fact you’re seeing the files is normal… the file must be accessed and then excluded from scanning, it’s being accessed, not scanned.
