Hello, my friends & I visit a website frequently & they have all been telling me their antivirus is telling them there is a virus on there. However, my avast isnt picking up this problem.
Does anyone know why?
Can you post which is this website (editing the link from http to hxxp to make it not live)?
I dont think it really matters what website it is, Avast either know about this Mal/ObfJS-A not being found by on access scanner or they dont.
Perhaps it is a false positive by their anti-virus program.
Why not tell us the web site so we can check out what is going on?
By the way, Mal/ObfJS-A is an iframe infector.
Of course the web site matters, how do you think that they would investigate it without knowing where to look.
It is possible to examine the page code if you know the URL that is being detected by another AV. If as CharleyO said this is an iFrame infector we can see if there is an iframe on that page, but me, considering the name Malware / Obfuscated JavaScript I would also look for javascript code that isn’t in plain language but obfuscated.
Now none of this can be don without a URL.
