You already helped me solve this problem with my desktop could you help me with my laptop now? Same thing mal popups… Attaching logs…
Please be more careful with the surfing. (Essexboy has been notified since he helped you before)
Thank you! I am trying to be as careful as possible though I am not a computer genius I haven’t had this problem for all the years I’ve been downloading and using avast… I take all necessary precautions known to me but Ι guess sometimes it’s inevitable…
None of us know everything about computers :). Although some may think they do (Which would include me lol).
Just sit tight until Essex arrives to help you with the desktop
After this could you let me know what problems you are experiencing
CAUTION : This fix is only valid for this specific machine, using it on another may break your computer
Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:
Toolbar: HKLM - No Name - {CC1A175A-E45B-41ED-A30C-C9B1D7A0C02F} - No File EmptyTemp: CMD: bitsadmin /reset /allusers
Save this as fixlist.txt, in the same location as FRST.exe
Run FRST and press Fix
On completion a log will be generated please post that
THEN
Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode onto your desktop.
[*]Close all open programs and internet browsers.
[*]Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.
[*]Click on Scan.
[*]After the scan is complete click on “Clean”
[*]Confirm each time with Ok.
[*]Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart.
[*]Please post the content of that logfile with your next answer.
[*]You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[S1].txt as well.
Thank you for the answer. The problem is I am having popups from avast not repeatedly but frequently. I am attaching a screenshot before the actions you indicated and the logs after them… The adwcleaner didn’t find anything and it didn’t reboot so I just hit report…
Are you still getting the alerts ? If so then :
Download and Install Combofix
Download ComboFix from one of the following locations:
Link 1
Link 2
VERY IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop
- IMPORTANT - Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. If you have difficulty properly disabling your protective programs, refer to this link here
[*]Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
[*]Accept the disclaimer and allow to update if it asks

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v706/ried7/NSIS_extraction.png
[*]When finished, it shall produce a log for you.
[*]Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.
Notes:
- Do not mouse-click Combofix’s window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
- Do not “re-run” Combofix. If you have a problem, reply back for further instructions.
- If after the reboot you get errors about programmes being marked for deletion then reboot, that will cure it.
Please make sure you include the combo fix log in your next reply as well as describe how your computer is running now
Since the FRST fix with the fixlist you gave me I have no alerts from avast. I had some alerts from malewarebytes Anti-malware while surfing but it was with sites I trust and use for years. I can’t say for sure though because the alerts weren’t repeated. If I got any alerts shall I download combofix and continue in this thread?
Forget combofix for now, and if all is well tomorrow let me know and I will tidy up
