malicious software removal tool sandboxed

I reinstalled xp home and when i was installing windows updates for xp home, Avast come with a pop for sandboxing the malicious software removal tool.
After the pop up the computer froze, the monitor went into save mode waited for about 10 minutes and nothing changed.
Had to do a Hard restart.

This is from Avast log for sandbox

Guess i was lucky it happened on running the malicious software removal tool, looks like i will still get all of windows updates as all of the high priorty updates are installed, and i will install optional ones tommorrow . As i wouldn’t like to install again as i have to ring up micrsoft to activate xp .

It is late here now and i will hitting the sack shortly.
I have changed from Auto- decide to ask, now in sandbox.

I’ve never gotten any Avast notification during Windows Update. My Avast settings are on default except that I also have it scanning for PUP. MSRT update installed without problems.

Hi Gopher John
This is the first time i have recieved a warning when i have installed windows updates on update tuesday and also the numerous times i have reinstalled xp, no warnings until today when reinstalling Windows xp

Well i am off to do a boot scan then to bed

Well I have the Behavior Shield ‘Monitor the system for unauthorised modifications’ unchecked in the Expert settings as I have WinPatrol Plus and also Outpost Firewall Pro, both of witch monitor this type of activity, so I don’t want overkill.

Considering I also Have the Behavior Shield set to Ask (not Auto Decide), I can’t recall the last time I was asked about anything by the Behavior Shield, so I believe that unchecking the ‘Monitor the system for unauthorised modifications’ option in the Behavior Shield, results in much less activity by the Behavior Shield.

Behavior Shield is set to Auto-Decide, and all 3 options are checkmarked for me. There is nothing added to Trusted Processes. I powered up about 4.5 hours ago, and BS shows 1582/0 items today. Most of the time was spent on the various forums. I normally use a Windows limited user account. My Admin account is only used for Windows Update and installing programs, never for casual surfing.

Am at a loss with what happened, with Auto sandbox.
That is how i had it set up. Also had Auto sandbox set to auto.
Anyway i have now got everything set up with no more problems. All seems to be running okay at the moment.
I have now also changed Behavior Shield and Auto sandbox to Ask!

I change Behavior Shield to ASK after i have installed Microsoft Netframework as this will have many alerts otherwise.
