I inserted an usb drive into my laptop windows 7 and scanned it.while opening the drive many files are not visible.
and folders were displayed as shortcuts.
after that i could see that below 2 urls are invoked at regular intervals and blocked by avast

Also i could see a lot of windows update icon in system tray

I am not able to install Malwarebyte and cannot run adwcleaner

OTL is closing as soon as opened

hey im no expert but try to run the otl in safemode and see if that could help.

[*] Start RogueKiller.exe.
[*] Wait until Prescan has finished …

OK lets now try a different tack as something is blocking OTL

When you download this programme rename it to Gotcha please

Download and Install Combofix

Download ComboFix from one of the following locations:

VERY IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

  • IMPORTANT - Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. If you have difficulty properly disabling your protective programs, refer to this link here

[*]Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
[*]Accept the disclaimer and allow to update if it asks

Notes:

  1. Do not mouse-click Combofix’s window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

  3. If after the reboot you get errors about programmes being marked for deletion then reboot, that will cure it.
