Malicious URL blocked: 33ff99.com and ff00cc.com

Greetings!

Avast network shield is constantly alerting me that it is blocking calls from System32\dllhost.exe to the websites 33ff99.com and ff00cc.com. I’ve run full boot-time scans from Avast, as well as Malwarebytes, ComboFix, TDSSkiller, Spybot, and anything else I could think of to get rid of whatever is initiating these calls, but they are still there.

In addition to all the scans recommended on this forum, I’ve also run a sfc /scannow command to check the system files, and here is the log from that.

This is the problem :

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\clsid\{fbeb8a05-beee-4442-804e-409d6c4515e9}\InProcServer32] /64 "" = \\?\globalroot\Device\HarddiskVolume2\Users\Tony\AppData\Local\Temp\sxqhvvn\sfvblpf\wow.dll

Could you attach the combofix log please

Also you appear to be running multiple AV’s
F-Secure Corporation
AVG Technologies CZ, s.r.o.
Cbeyond Secure Desktop
AVAST Software

Here’s the combofix log from my latest run.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\clsid\{fbeb8a05-beee-4442-804e-409d6c4515e9}\InProcServer32] /64 "" = \\?\globalroot\Device\HarddiskVolume2\Users\Tony\AppData\Local\Temp\sxqhvvn\sfvblpf\wow.dll

After running ComboFix, I opened regedit to take a look at this key, but it’s not there. Is this a hidden or locked registry entry?

Thanks for your help getting rid of this explicative deleted

The registry entry may still be in there hidden, but I booted the system from a Hiren BootCD and manually deleted the wow.dll file that entry pointed to, as well as wow.ini and all the .tmp files in the same directory. So far nothing has popped up, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed. About to walk away from this system for the weekend, but I’ll take another look at it on Monday.

Again, thanks for all your help, and have a great weekend!

Todd
