Hello All:
I am running Avast! version 6.0.1000 (Latest version). It has been going crazy recently with alert messages popping up stating that it has blocked a Malicious URL.
Below is the information directly off the alert message:
MALICIOUS URL BLOCKED
Avast Network Shield has blocked the following
Object: uac.advertising.com/wrapper/aceUAC.js
Infection: URL Mal
Process: C:\Program Files\Internet explorer\iexplorer.exe
Action: Blocked
I don’t know what is is or where it came from, but needless to say it’s driving me crazy. I understand enough that I don’t want or need this popping up so I ask the community:
-
How do I stop the Alert message from popping up almost every time I move to a new Internet Explorer page? (using I.E. 8; Windows XP; Service Pack 2)<–Scanned computer today via Microsoft website for system updates (Result: computer is current & UTD on all necessary items).
-
How can I remove/block this URL (if possible)?
-
Is there anywhere in the settings of Avast! that I can set so it (Avast) targets this URL problem and stops it permanently?
Generally, I have a very short fuse when it comes to Alert Messages (I understand their importance), but it’s just something that bugs the crap out of me more due to annoyance than anything else. Thanks for any and all advice you might provide on this issue (it has occurred only recently). THANKS!
