Malicious URL Blocked - Logs Attached - Need to know next step

Hello,
I am attaching all the logs and just need to know the next step on how to clear these malicious URL’s. The ones I keep getting are Crossmatxh and Paspartux which every time once Avast blocks turns compute into Blue Screen of Death.

If you need any other logs, please post instructions on what you need me to run and I can post those logs also.
Again, Thank You

your malwarebytes log say “no action taken”
after scan you need to click the “remove selected” button to quarantine what is found

malware removers are notified. it may take hours before one arrive so be patient

hi TracyMom,

When using Malwarebytes with settings set to delete and quarantine:

I’d hold off on deleting and quarantining the svchost.exe file itself, as is a needed system file even if if it is infected. Otherwise, you could wind up without network access or some such. A malware expert such as essexboy will guide you through the cleaning/repairing of this file. Ok to delete and quarantine the file in memory though. Use another computer if possible to post in this forum until the all clear is given.

FINALLY

run farbar service scanner

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/73555776/FSS.GIF

Tick “All” options.
Press “Scan”.
It will create a log (FSS.txt) in the same directory the tool is run.

Please copy and paste the log to your reply.

Attached are the additional scans you requested. I still have AVAST completely disabled at this time.
Please let me know if you need any additional scans.
Thank You

I was unable to find the TDSSkiller log. I can do a report but Im not sure how to save it as a log.
Any help would be greatly appreicated.

Thank You Again.

Just and additional note that there were two files created on the desktop that are called Desktop.ini
The warning is if I deleted them then it could cause windows to become unoperable.
Is there anything I need to do with these files and or is it safe to delete them?

Thank You again for your assistance.

As OTL unhides these two files, they will be reset/removed by essexboy when he comes back and gives you additional task(s) to do, so as to continue the cleansing of your system.

You do not need to do anything at the moment (ATM). I would leave them there as he will address this issue soon enough.

It is safe to re-enable Avast protection modules when you are not running one of these specialised programs. In fact, I highly recommend it. You will be far safer that way. The infections you got are because no a/v can offer 100% protection, and also because the malware writers purposely change their malicious programs almost hourly at times to stay a step ahead of the a/v companies.

You might want to think about installing WOT (World Of Trust) when this is done, to protect yourself from visiting known malicious sites in the future. There are other protective modules, but that can come later. I’m taking a leap here and assuming you do not have this installed as a browser add-on.

Here: http://www.mywot.com/

That looks good now, the TDSSKiller log will be at C:\TDSSKiller date time

How is the computer behaving now ?

The computer is acting better, running smoother and faster with no blue screen of death which is good thing.

However, I have reinstated AVAST but am unable to update the program and I keep getting the message:

Last encounted error:Invalid file signature. Setup will terminate

followed by a terminate time usually 12sec.

Is there something else I can do to fix this problem so I can update the program and make sure that we dont have this problem again.

Thank You for your assistance. I will also download the program WOT suggested by mchain. The two ini files seem to have vanished so Im not
worried about them anymore.

Thanks Again.

The update error is on the Avast side and we are waiting for a fix on that

Subject to no further problems

I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems

Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean

A good workman always cleans up after himself so…The following will implement some cleanup procedures as well as reset System Restore points:

Run OTL
[*]Under the Custom Scans/Fixes box at the bottom, paste in the following

:Commands [resethosts] [emptytemp] [Reboot]

[*]Then click the Run Fix button at the top
[*]Let the program run unhindered, reboot the PC when it is done

Run OTL and hit the cleanup button. It will remove all the programmes we have used plus itself.

We will now confirm that your hidden files are set to that, as some of the tools I use will change that

[*]Go to control panel
[*]Select folder options (Appearance > Folder options in category view)
[*]Select the View Tab.
[*]Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Do not show hidden files and folders.
[]Click Yes to confirm.
[
]Click OK.

Upgrading Java:

[] Go to this site and click Do I have Java
[
] It will check your current version and then offer to update to the latest version

SPRING CLEAN

Now that you are clean, to help protect your computer in the future I recommend that you get the following free programmes:

http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/7729/mbamicontw5.gif

Malwarebytes. Update and run weekly to keep your system clean

Download and install FileHippo update checker and run it monthly it will show you which programmes on your system need updating and give a download link

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system and to keep them updated. To keep your operating system up to date visit
