Yep bare as a badgers bum

OK could you start Firefox in safe mode please and then check for redirects/alerts http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode

If the are none then re-enable the add ons one at a time checking between each for alerts
When you find the one causing them could you let me know what it is

Attached is what I could find for addons.

I enabled each of them one by one and tested them with searches and no alerts from avast.

I even enabled both of them at the same time and searched with no alerts from avast.

What do you think?

OK now go back to a normal Firefox - do the alerts resume ?

If they do we will have to fully uninstall Firefox

I opened normal firefox and I see this extra addon, “Mozilla Safe Browsing”.

When I open and do not disable this addon when searching the alert pops up.

When I open and disable this addon then search the alert does not pop up.

Does this help?

OK lets kill that - a good name …not
