Malicious URL Blocked - SVC Host

Hi everyone,

I am getting bombarded with pop-up notifications from Avast informing me that a malicious url has been blocked, all referencing SVC Host. MalwareBytes seems to clean it each time I run it, but everytime I reboot, I receive a message from MB that ‘a malicious program has attempted to launch.’ I quarantine it, but it just won’t seem to go away completely. I have run the steps in the sticky at the top of this topic through the OTL scan, and I have attached all of the logs below. I thought about running MB in safe mode to see if it can completely clean the infection, but I thought I would ask for some assistance here.

Thank you for any assistance you can provide!

Please copy and paste its contents on your next reply.

THEN

Run a fresh OTL scan please

Thank you for your help! I downloaded the TDSSKiller tool, and it identified three items. I was able to select ‘Cure’ for one of them. After rebooting, I also re-ran the OTL tool. The TDSSKiller report text, the image from the TDSSKiller Results, and the revised OTL report are attached below.

OK re-run TDSSKiller with the same parameters
When this appears select delete

\Device\Harddisk0\DR0 ( TDSS File System )

Avast will alert when the files are moved

THEN

Download and Install Combofix

Download ComboFix from one of the following locations:
Link 1
Link 2

VERY IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

  • IMPORTANT - Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. If you have difficulty properly disabling your protective programs, refer to this link here

[*]Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
[*]Accept the disclaimer and allow to update if it asks

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v706/ried7/NSIS_extraction.png

[*]When finished, it shall produce a log for you.
[*]Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.

Notes:

  1. Do not mouse-click Combofix’s window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
  2. Do not “re-run” Combofix. If you have a problem, reply back for further instructions.
  3. If after the reboot you get errors about programmes being marked for deletion then reboot, that will cure it.

Please make sure you include the combo fix log in your next reply as well as describe how your computer is running now

My PC seems to be running fine after re-running the TDSSKiller and downloading and running ComboFix. I did get a ‘Rootkit Blocked’ pop-up from Avast when proceeding with a delete action on the entry you specified (\Device\Harddisk0\DR0 (TDSS File System)). I did not get prompted to reboot after either the second run of TDSSKiller or the ComboFix. I have pasted the TDSS Report below and attached the C:\Combofix.txt.

Thanks for your persistence on helping me get rid of this infection!
