Hi Essex Boy, Browsing seems fine BUT I still have the issue on boot with explorer.exe hanging, killing the process and then starting a new one allows the PC to boot and then I have to start my usual startup items manually. Thanks for getting rid of this for me. When you are ready let me know what else I need to to remove your tools and maybe that will allow explorer,exe to start normally.

The run entries are present for those programmes - so try a reinstall of them and see if that stops the explorer hang

A good workman always cleans up after himself so…The following will implement some cleanup procedures as well as reset System Restore points:
Click Start > Run and copy/paste the following bolded text into the Run box and click OK: N.b. If used
ComboFix /Uninstall
Run OTS and hit the cleanup button. It will remove all the programmes we have used plus itself.
We will now confirm that your hidden files are set to that, as some of the tools I use will change that
[*]Click Start.
[*]Open My Computer.
[*]Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
[*]Select the View Tab.
[*]Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Do not show hidden files and folders.
[]Click Yes to confirm.
[]Click OK.

I still have the explorer problem that I will sort later.
I do have one piece that i can’t accomplish

But I do have
Disk Cleanup BUT this doesn’t have any tabs at all let alone a More Options one.
Where do i go from here?
Ooops sorry I had a vista line there. You need to right click and select run as admin to get the more options

Hi All, i didnt want to start a new topic when i have the same problem and i hope no one minds me hijacking this topic.
I have XP Pro with IE8. I downloaded a file the other day that when i scanned it said it was clean, Upon install of this file i have been bombarded with alerts from my Avast.
“yourcpmsolution.biz” is the main culprit although i have had 1 alert which was just an IP address. I am getting slide in adverts at the top of my IE pages and it is doing my head in, Im quite PC savvy however when it comes to virus detection and removal im not the best.
I have downloaded and installed and ran the program “Emsisoft Anti-Malware” and it has shown the following:
Riskware.AdWare.Win32.EZula!IK located in system32\e2df759.dll | Mozilla Firefox\extensions{2995df00-4cf4-1c6d-8dd7-256e18372e8d}\componants\8df89bec.dll and in System Volume Information_restore{5E7E0FDF-3D70-4E26-9D38-A6B737AB539C}\RP177\A0016480.dll
Also i have:
Riskware.Hacktool.Keygen.pdf995!IK located in System Volume Information_restore{5E7E0FDF-3D70-4E26-9D38-A6B737AB539C}\RP176\A0016221.exe
Also :
Riskware.Monitor.Win32.Keylogger!IK located in System Volume Information_restore{5E7E0FDF-3D70-4E26-9D38-A6B737AB539C}\RP176\A0016246.exe
and lastly:
Adware.Win32.AdRotator!A2 located in system32\dadmxewgcep.exe
I cannot find anything even closly related to the “yourcpmsolution.biz” problem.
I am about to quarantine the items found with emsisoft and see what difference that makes however i am not holding much hope with it fixing the cpmsolution problem.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
