malicious url blocked

Hi, recently Avast has been regularly saying that a malicious url has been blocked:
Infection Details
URL: hxxp://p3nlhclust404.shr.prod.phx3.secur…
Process: C:\Program Files (x86)\uTorrent\uTorrent…
Infection: URL:Mal
It is not happening as often as it was a couple of days ago but everything I have tried has not stopped it popping up. I have run a scan with avast and found something but these warnings keep popping up. Not really sure what I should do now.

Here is the malwarebytes log:

Please ‘modify’ your post change the URL from http to hXXp, to break the link and avoid accidental exposure to suspect sites, thanks.

This needs further analysis by a malware removal specialist:
Go to this topic http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0 for information on Logs to assist in cleaning malware. Use the information about getting and using the tools and attach the logs here, not in the LOGS topic.

If you have utorrent it may well just be that it is connecting to an infected site, so I don’t know if you have a way of deleting any previous utorrent history that may stop it connecting to a malicious site.

sorry, i didn’t even think to change the http. I have edited the previous post with malwarebytes log and otl log.
Here is the aswMBR log

OK, A malware removal specialist has been informed of your topic to analyse the logs.

It is related to uTorrent so it is either infected or one of the seeds is a bad place to go

Here is the TDSS report.

I have also recently deleted almost all of my torrents and the alerts seem to have stopped for now. Just hoping there is nothing else hidden on my system.

There is no apparent malware on the system, how is it behaving now ?

Since deleting most of my torrents I haven’t had one alert. I guess its ok now.
Thanks for all of the advice and help, I really appreciate it.

You’re welcome, essexboy will advise you how to remove the tools used and any general system advise.

Subject to no further problems

I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems

Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean

A good workman always cleans up after himself so…The following will implement some cleanup procedures as well as reset System Restore points:

Run OTL
[*]Under the Custom Scans/Fixes box at the bottom, paste in the following

:Commands [resethosts] [emptytemp] [Reboot]

[*]Then click the Run Fix button at the top
[*]Let the program run unhindered, reboot the PC when it is done

Run OTL and hit the cleanup button. It will remove all the programmes we have used plus itself.

We will now confirm that your hidden files are set to that, as some of the tools I use will change that

[*]Go to control panel
[*]Select folder options (Appearance > Folder options in category view)
[*]Select the View Tab.
[*]Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Do not show hidden files and folders.
[]Click Yes to confirm.
[
]Click OK.

Your Java is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system.
Please follow these steps to remove older version of Java components and upgrade the application.

Upgrading Java:

[
] It will check your current version and then offer to update to the latest version

SPRING CLEAN

Now that you are clean, to help protect your computer in the future I recommend that you get the following free programmes:

http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/7729/mbamicontw5.gif

Malwarebytes. Update and run weekly to keep your system clean

Download and install FileHippo update checker and run it monthly it will show you which programmes on your system need updating and give a download link

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system and to keep them updated. To keep your operating system up to date visit

[*]Microsoft Windows Update

To learn more about how to protect yourself while on the internet read our little guide How did I get infected in the first place ?

Keep safe

No more problems! Everything is all clear! Thank you both so much!
I have followed all the advice too but do not have a firewall, any recommendations on a good free one?

There is a small guide on firewalls here http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/topic/38-free-antivirus-and-antispyware-software/

That guide was Last updated on April 23, 2011, so perhaps it needs a further update. Though the Outpost and Online Armor are fine firewalls, I would personally steer clear of Zone Alarm.

EDIT: typo firewall name.

Awesome! Thanks again guys! I truly appreciate the level of support and advice!
