If you didn’t, please re-try to download the 64bit version of uninstall tool and re-try before re-trying to run ComboFix.

Post here the created ComboFix.txt logfile

viola!

While waiting for your last reply, I decided to retry what didn’t work previously. I didn’t try the Malwarebytes because it was hanging up previously. However I was able to get the OTL to scan this time within the past 25 minutes, and you will now find the two required logs attached.

I will continue with your latest direction and try that process again. In the meantime, you can look over the attached logs.

Hi,

The OTL is not needed as we have deploy the FRST instead. But now I need to see what shall ComboFix tell us.

Magna,

I retried the uninstall link for the 64 bit again. It DID work! All icons are gone. But I also know that that is not the important thing right now. I have just deleted the Cobofix that I downloaded once and downloaded it again and as I stated before, it gets through a part that apears that it is extracting files then perhaps begins to run but then I still get that error message that states Incompatible OS. Thus, no logs to send.

This computer is running the Windows 7 Home Premium

Hi,

It is important. Although you have disabled the AVG, his driver are still well loaded along with other driver as well as avast! driver, kaspersky driver …
ComboFix is a powerful tool and use the highest system privileges. If the system is swamped CF may be difficult to start…

... but then I still get that error message that states Incompatible OS.

ComboFix is compatible with Windows 7 as well as with Windows Vista both 32bit/ 64 bit and Windows XP.
Since ComboFix refuses to run, we shall preform some preliminary cleaning first.

.

=> Follow this guide from here for running and attaching the RogueKiller reports…
http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0

Then …

Please download Malwarebytes AntiRootkit (MBAR) and save it to your desktop.

http://www.mcshield.net/personal/magna86/Images/mbar.png
) and allow it to run.
• Click OK on the next screen, to allow the package to extract the contents of the file to its own folder named mbar.
mbar.exe will launch automatically. On some systems, this may take a few extra seconds. Please be patient and wait for the program to open.

>> If malware is not detected, click the Exit button to close the program and post the mbar-log-year-month-day.txt and system-log.txt reports.

>> If an infection/s are found ensure Create Restore Point are ticked. Then select the "Cleanup! button to remove threats.
• The clean up procedure will be scheduled for process, pop-up will be shown.
Select the Yes button and the system should re-boot to complete the cleaning process.

>> Notice: only if an RootKit are detected, ensure to run fixdamage.exe tool located in mbar folder, \Plugins\fixdamage.exe

 • Run fixdamage.exe, at the black window to continue type Y (alias for Yes). Wait few seconds for execution …
 • When you see “press any key to exit” fix is completed, press any key to close the window. Reboot the system.

> The following reports will be created in mbar folder:

 1. mbar-log-year-month-day (hour-minute-second).txt
 2. system-log.txt

Please post both logs in your next reply.

Hi,
I have done the RogueKiller scan and that worked for me. I am attaching the three txt files which you requested. It also created a RK_Quarantine folder which now contains 6 items.

I proceeded with the Malwarebytes Anit-Rootkit program scan, making sure the all 3 scan targets were ticked. During the scan of the “Scan system”, it stopped and didn’t seem to continue for at least 15 minutes. It hung up on C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Media Player\wmpshare.exe

I will return for any further instructions in about 12 hours.

PS:
The Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit did produce one of your two files so far. I am attaching it here.

Huh … let’s try to run ComboFix one last time but this time with some switches …

Download fresh ComboFix and save it to your Desktop.
http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe
Disable any security software …

[*] Click Start (or
http://amf.mycity.rs/pg/images/VistaStartButton.png
) then Run.

On Windows7 or Vista you may use Start Search field if Run is not available.

[*] In the line of text type in (Copy) the following:

%userprofile%\desktop\ComboFix /KillAll /NoMBR

[*] then click OK (or press Enter ).

This shall start ComboFix with more aggressive start.
If ComboFix manages to spin a full circles (Stages from 1-50 and later preform diagnostic) post me his log.

In any case, re-run FRST

[*]Double-click to run it.
[*]Under Optional Scan ensure “Addition.txt” are ticked.
[*]Press Scan button.
[*]It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply.
[*]Tool shall create another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply as well.

Good morning,

I have to download these files directly into a download directory then moved them to the desktop. I am not aware of how to change destination of the “downloads”. I don’t think the is the problem with ComboFix (not a download directly to the desktop). I have tried to run ComboFix.exe at least 7 times, including 3 times with copy/paste of which you most recently suggested. The same thing. The program doesn’t even get to the point of “the program”. It doesn’t even seem to be installing. As I stated previously, it has a screen/window that shows it extracting files, then backing up something (I think it says registry). THEN that window disappears to only be replaced with a window error message that says (in several languages) “Incompatible OS”. This is a Windows 7 OS and I do know, as I have read it, that it is supposed to be able to run on this system, but it ISN"T.

I have continued with the FRST.exe and am attaching the two produced logs for today.

HI,

Iminent was not on the Uninstall list. I don’ think I have seen it there previously either.

I have tried to uninstall the Buzzsearch in the past but after a couple times it said and error occred and that it may have already been uninstalled and asked if I wanted to remove it from the list. I said yes or clicked ok… whichever needed to remove it from list.

When attempting to uninstall Community Smartbar, a message came up that read “The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK or enter and alternate path to the folder containing the installation package 'LinkuryInstaller.msi in the box below.”
I clicked ok to try again and the window disappeared.

When I attempted to uninstall Community Smartbar Engine, nothing seemed to happen at all. No messages even.

I have un the FRST and the zoek as you indicated with the sections copied and pasted. You will find the resulting logs requested attached.

Hi,

Please re-run zoek with this script as I am not satisfied with the postedt zoek log.

Hi,

This is the same incomplete zoek report as the first one posted above.
Tell me, did you wait for zoek to finish his work?

In any case post me the fresh FRST.txt report.
Also I would like to preform the ARK (antirootkit) scan:

Download TDSSKiller and save it to your desktop

Execute TDSSKiller.exe by doubleclicking on it.
Confirm “End user Licence Agreement” and “KSN Statement” dialog box by clicking on Accept button.

[*] Press Start Scan
[*] If Suspicious object is detected, the default action will be Skip, click on Continue.
[*] If Malicious objects are found, select Cure.

Once complete, a log will be produced at the root drive which is typically C:\ ,for example, C:\TDSSKiller.<version_date_time>log.txt

Please post the contents of that log in your next reply.

I appologize for the mixup… too many logs…

The latest zoek-results log attached.

Hi,

Ok, situation is the next. The latest set of FRST logs doesn’t show the active malware, we have clean it all. With Zoek we have preform the advanced junk & leftover cleaning and ARK scan doesn’t show detections.

Now run this zoek script just to hit some lefted item and then tell me how is the computer behavior now?

jmfkcklnlgedgbglfkkgedjfmejoahla;chr

requested log attached.

I have been told that the computer seems to be working fine in the past couple days particularly.

As for MY notices, I noticed yesterday I was at a particular website on this computer that in the past had been giving several problems and had resulted in alerts, was acting up only slightly a couple times going to my selected area of the page to the bottom of the page without my scrolling at the time… jumping up and down a couple times. That little problem didn’t occur today when doing to the site, briefly at least.

The only thing I notice now particularly is that the “New Tab” is not the same format or design as it was before we began working here via the forum. It is not in the block options and design as the standard Windows7 “New Tab”.

Hi, this is not malware related. You may use browser (Firefox/Chrome) settings to fix “new tab” as suits you if you will.

The following will implement some post-cleanup procedures:

=> Please download DelFix by Xplode to your Desktop.

Run the tool and check the following boxes below;

http://www.mcshield.net/personal/magna86/Images/checkmark.png
Remove disinfection tools

http://www.mcshield.net/personal/magna86/Images/checkmark.png
Create registry backup

http://www.mcshield.net/personal/magna86/Images/checkmark.png
Purge System Restore
Click Run button and wait a few seconds for the programme completes his work.
At this point all the tools we used here should be gone. Tool will create an report for you (C:DelFix.txt)

The tool will also record healthy state of registry and make a backup using ERUNT program in %windir%\ERUNT\DelFix
Tool deletes old system restore points and create a fresh system restore point after cleaning.
