Malicious URL message keeps popping up every few minutes

Avast keeps popping up with a ‘threat has been detected’ message. This has been happening every few minutes for the past 6 or 7 hours. It happens in IE, Firefox, Opera and Chrome.

Malwarebytes and Anvi Smart Detector both report no issues.

WTF is going on?

TIA, geoffas

I’m not so sure.

If you have utorrent I would suggest that you clear all of its cache/history and remove any seeding links as it is highly possible you have a malicious link in there.

Please excuse any incorrect terminology I don’t use any P2P applications as I feel they are a high risk activity as you have no control over the data on these remote/seeds.

If they still occur then it is possible that something else if misusing utorrtnt as Pondus implies.

Just my 2 cents. Might be worth to use utorrent inside Sandboxie. Lots safer, and apply some internet, run rights + dropped rights. Plus set the ‘‘access to resources’’ → ‘‘access to files’’ → ‘‘access only read’’ → C:\Windows
And eny of your ‘‘private folders’’ to deny access.

I hope this helps a bit, sry no thread hijacking meant
