Hi there, you have a veritable menagerie resident in your computer… This first OTL run may take a while as there are multiple different infections

Download the attached fix.txt to your desktop
Run OTL
Press the Run Fix button
A dialogue will open
Navigate to the fix.txt on the desktop and select it
Press Run Fix again
Allow OTL to run undisturbed
It will reboot
On rebooting a text file will open attach that here

THEN

Download and Install Combofix

Download ComboFix from one of the following locations:
Link 1
Link 2

VERY IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

  • IMPORTANT - Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. If you have difficulty properly disabling your protective programs, refer to this link here

[*]Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
[*]Accept the disclaimer and allow to update if it asks

[*]When finished, it shall produce a log for you.
[*]Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.

Notes:

  1. Do not mouse-click Combofix’s window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
  2. Do not “re-run” Combofix. If you have a problem, reply back for further instructions.
  3. If after the reboot you get errors about programmes being marked for deletion then reboot, that will cure it.

Please make sure you include the combo fix log in your next reply as well as describe how your computer is running now

Essexboy,

Thank you for your assistance

Hi that looks better now… But first your Trend Micro is well out of date… Hence all the infections. If the licence has expired would you like to replace it with Avast ?

How is the computer behaving now ?

run farbar service scanner

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/73555776/FSS.GIF

Tick “All” options.
Press “Scan”.
It will create a log (FSS.txt) in the same directory the tool is run.

Please copy and paste the log to your reply.

Yes I would rather have Avast over trend micro. Is there a good free version avaliable? We already run avast on our PC could we just add to our existing license?

The laptop seems to be running fine.

Attached is the FSS log.

Thank you for the help.

Download the Trend uninstall tool from here http://esupport.trendmicro.com/solution/en-us/1037161.aspx
Download to the desktop the latest version of Avast free from here http://files.avast.com/test5beta/avast_free_antivirus_setup.exe

From control panel uninstall Trend
Reboot and run the uninstall tool for trend
Reboot install Avast … Job done ;D

Could you attach the FSS log

Sorry for the delay but here is the FSS log and Avast is now installed.

Big question now… Are there any outstanding problems ?
