The computer seems to be better. Avast isn’t showing anything lurking. I ran an avast scan and it took forever, and seemed to find everything quarrantined. I am going to reinstall malwarebytes, then search for how to remove combofix and otl. They aren’t showing in my programs to delete.
Yes, I still have fragments of AVG PC tuneup, along with the icon on my computer. My recent reboot did not have an error popup from windows indicating the AVG tuneup has a problem.

I fibbed about the AVG tuneup…the error message is showing on reboot. I ran mwb…it found an additional issue that it took care of. I am attaching the log.

You don’t have to search for how to remove combofix, etc. after a period of use (a day) if avast isn’t alerting and you aren’t experiencing any malware symptoms, then report that and essexboy will give instructions on how to remove the tools and any other general advice.
It looks like a remnant/orphan registry entry found by MBAM otherwise it should have found the actual dzrylzchm.dll file as well, but essexboy will advise on that later today when he is back on-line (almost 10:45am in the UK so essexboy will probably be at work).
The MBAM entry was an orphaned registry item and totally harmless
OK lets now remove AVG and my tools

Run OTL and hit the cleanup button. It will remove all the programmes we have used plus itself.

SPRING CLEAN
To manually create a new Restore Point
