Malware blocked

Hi, I have recently started using avast free edition and today I have been getting Malware blocked constantly popping up. It wont stop.

An example of 1 is -

Object: C:## aswSnx private storage\r49\test.exe_{e301f7cd-66b8-11e0-aba5-0011d8ec0f61}\image\Program Files\Real\RealPlayer\firstrun

Infection: Win32:Ramnit-G

Action: Deleted

Process: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE

There are about 51 coming up every 30 seconds or so and they wont stop.

I have run a full scan and it shows no infections but this is still happening. Sorry if its something easily fixed but its driving me mad.

Thanks in advance of any replies :slight_smile:

What version of avast are you using? Avast Internet Security? It looks like the virus is in the sandbox. Close your browser and delete all temporary internet files. If you are using AIS go to the Avast GUI/additional protection/sandbox/webbrowsers and under maintenance delete the contents.

Please follow the steps listed here by essexboy.

Avast free antivirus 6.0

Deleted temp internet files, just noticed a test.exe application on my desktop that wasnt there before, so deleted that.

Restarted the computer and so far have not had any more malware detected pop ups.

Thanks for the quick reply :slight_smile:

I completely missed this. ::slight_smile:

Good. It would probably be a good idea if you went ahead and performed a Malwarebytes scan. I would still question if it were completely gone just by closing your browser, cleaning out temporary internet files and deleting test.exe. If it is completely gone then the autosandbox did what it is designed to do. Also delete any restore points, if any, that were created today. Since it was run in the sandbox did you have an autosandbox popup appear and if you did, what actions did you apply? In the autosandbox settings do you have it set to ask or auto?
