Malware found - Java:Agent-HE - Please help...

Hey

Until now I havnt had problems with virusses or malware. All of a sudden, my internet connection started slowing down and I noticed connection hickups all the time.
So I made a full Avast system scan and boot scan, that showed a “Java:Agent-HE” malware had been found. I deleted this successfully with Avast.

Is my computer now clean, or should I perform some other scans?
My internetconnection seems to be better, but I think I still notice some hickups…

Any help would be greatly appreciated :frowning:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/73555776/TDSSFront.JPG

[*]Then click on Change parameters.

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/73555776/TDSSConfig.JPG

[*]Check the boxes beside Verify Driver Digital Signature and Detect TDLFS file system, then click OK.

[*]Click the Start Scan button.

[*]If a suspicious object is detected, the default action will be Skip, click on Continue.

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/73555776/TDSSFound.JPG

[*]If malicious objects are found, they will show in the Scan results and offer three (3) options.
[*]Ensure Cure is selected, then click Continue => Reboot now to finish the cleaning process.

[*]Get the report by selecting Reports

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/73555776/TDSSEnd.JPG

[*]Note: If Cure is not available, please choose Skip instead, do not choose Delete unless instructed.

Please attach the log found at C:\TDSSKiller date time .

THEN

Download and Install Combofix

Download ComboFix from one of the following locations:
Link 1
Link 2

VERY IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

 • IMPORTANT - Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. If you have difficulty properly disabling your protective programs, refer to this link here

[*]Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
[*]Accept the disclaimer and allow to update if it asks

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v706/ried7/NSIS_extraction.png

[*]When finished, it shall produce a log for you.
[*]Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.

Notes:

 1. Do not mouse-click Combofix’s window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
 2. Do not “re-run” Combofix. If you have a problem, reply back for further instructions.
 3. If after the reboot you get errors about programmes being marked for deletion then reboot, that will cure it.

Please make sure you include the combo fix log in your next reply as well as describe how your computer is running now

Okay, I’ve run both programs.
This is the result.

I ran aswMBR again to see if that infection is still there…
It seems it is :frowning:

OK we will need to manually replace it

Run OTL
In the custom scan box copy/paste the following :

/md5start
int15.*
/md5stop

Press Run Scan and attach the resultant log

OKay, done, here is the result…

I will use combofix for the replace as it does a neater job

 1. Close any open browsers.
 2. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
 3. Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:
FCopy:: c:\Acer\Preload\Autorun\DRV\Finger\System32\drivers\int15.sys|C:\Windows\System32\drivers\int15.sys
Save this as CFScript.txt, in the same location as ComboFix.exe

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v666/sUBs/CFScriptB-4.gif

Refering to the picture above, drag CFScript into ComboFix.exeWhen finished, it shall produce a log for you at C:\ComboFix.txt which I will require in your next reply.

Notes:

 1. Do not mouse-click Combofix’s window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
 2. Do not “re-run” Combofix. If you have a problem, reply back for further instructions.
 3. If after the reboot you get errors about programmes being marked for deletion then reboot, that will cure it.

Okay, done, here is the log.

Btw, already many thanks for the help!

Could you now recheck with aswmbr please

Hey

I made a new scan with aswmbr, but the infection is still there…
Seems a tough one to kill :S

No I think that is a false positive

Open Avast and go to the virus chest
Right click the blank area and select add

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/73555776/open%20chest.jpg

Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\int15.sys

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/73555776/navigate.JPG

Select the file

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/73555776/select.JPG

Right click the file in the chest and select submit to virus labs. In the drop down select False Positive

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/73555776/add%20submit.JPG

Once done manually update the virus definitions to send it

Okay, done.
Should I check aswmbr again?

No give it a day first and then scan the file in the virus chest to see if it is still detected

Okay, I scanned the file in the chest and its no longer considered a virus.
One more thing… Since this malware infection happened, I can no long execute JAR-files (Java related?)
Anything I can do?

Tnx!
Greets

What error do you get for jar files ?

The aswMBR detection was a false positive and is now resolved ;D
