Malware Pop-Up

Is this an infection? I was playing a game of League of Legends just me and a friend only, when randomly I get tabbed out of the game, to get Google Chrome opening a random page for no reason and avast! telling me that a malware URL was blocked. I’ll post the link ONLY for the purpose of showing what the link was and it doesn’t seem friendly.

That looks to be an ip in the link and just checking the location of the ip using an ip locator it says it’s located in France. I did a Full-System Scan with avast! and it says NO THREAT FOUND so why would this happen? I figured since this is very unusual to report it to the forums. And before I get suggested about malicious sites, I do not visit ANY malicious sites on my computer. A brief explanation of what I surf is just YouTube and Steam. And I haven’t installed anything recently (not that I would instalol fishy software) so I really have no idea what this could be.

As a note though web inspector seems to detect it as a phishing site.

Any ideas or help?

URL :mal means the url or IP is on a blacklist for whatever reason…it does not have to be infected

IP 212.83.155.45 is listed on 4 blacklists. http://whatismyipaddress.com/blacklist-check

seems to be spam…

Hi, I have the same problem today as Nom with avast blocking a threat from that site address. The thing is yesterday i didnt have this problem and when i started windows today and clicked firefox i got the message from avast. I was wondering if i should be worried if i have a virus or something on my computer since i do not know how that pop up open and i did scans on my computer with nothing showing up.

Also i have been testing to see if that pop up will come up again when i open firefox and so far nothing. My computer and internet speeds also do not seem to be affected.

Any advice on what is going on would be appreciated.

Glad to see I’m not the only with with this problem. But Pondus even if it is just spam, don’t you think it odd for my computer to just decide to open my browser for this? And my daily scan picked this trojan up the following day. And note that I did NOT download anything or install ANY software in this period to keep from interfering in finding the problem. Also I used imgur to upload the screenshots because for whatever reason the attachments option isn’t working for me.
