Introducing: Malwarebytes Browser Extension (Beta)
https://blog.malwarebytes.com/malwarebytes-news/betas/2018/07/introducing-malwarebytes-browser-extension/
Trying it now as added protection in the Avast Secure Browser.
Thanks Asyn
Also giving it a try on Secure Browser.
I had to bypass the Extension Security of Secure Browser to add.
That’s a requirement for any extension you add that doesn’t come directly from Avast.

I posted this almost three months ago and not a word.
Well isn’t this somewhat different it is an MBAM blog entry Posted: July 26, 2018.
The only controversy here is over the so-called click bait alerts.
Sites not really suspicious, but with alternative news content, like for instance prisonplanet etc. are flagged by Malwarebytes Browser Extension as a click bait site. ::), and you have to allow such sites specifically to be able to visit them.
Politics and general opinion outside MSM should be out of the webrep game. A site is (in)secure or not, not counting whether it is biased or with fakenews according to some. From this you see that now the United States is a Divided & Deeply Split Nation,
and only United it should/could stand, I assume.
Microsoft warns me about installing a decentralized P2P browser like Beaker browser, supported by the Ford Foundation,
that is how they dislike anyone venturing outside of the trodden browser paths of the big 5 Tech Giants
(Microsoft, Amazon, Yandex, Google, facebook). Hold on to your own thinking, stick solidly to your own independent decisions.
The alternative is high traffic, low engagement, really the dirty secret of all clickbait marketing - quantity that beats quality.

Hi Damian, regarding clickbait protection/filtering…
Disclaimer: Please note that our Clickbait filtering is NOT politically motivated at all.
Clickbait filtering is divided into two parts, 1) Domain based and 2) Content based
1) Our clickbait website data is sourced from a group of academic researchers.
any site that falls into the domain category will display a clickbait banner that can by bypassed, if you feel that warning is incorrect, please let us know and will look into it.
2) Content based filtering is transparent, all the known pattern based clickbait content will be filtered out from the webpage and number of blocked content will be displayed on the right corner under the malwarebytes logo. Some of the example are:

Content based clickbait filtering works on all sites like news, social, tech etc.
Hi Asyn,
We got an answer here where the Facebook CSO left facebook to further teach at Standford University, just for these kind of reasons,
amongst other things the spreading of fake news about alleged Russiagate, also often presented in the form of click-bait.
These big technical parties are not impartial anymore, they took sides, and when the Internet looses impartiality, we will loose the Internet, it becomes an official propaganda channel.

Hi Damian,
if you think that Malwarebytes is somehow involved, I’d suggest to discuss it with their staff.
Cheers
Hi Asyn,
Think they know what they are doing and for the rest, sign of the times, so I combine it with a scan here:
https://privacyscore.org/ and then we can make an informed decision about click bait.
