Malwares

I was using malwaresbytes trial to scan my laptop the other day, and by using flashscan, it came up with 1000+ malware from this only one software that i use. I don’t really want to delete it. Can i somehow only use that software in a Standard Account (Windows 7) and put it in a sandbox so everytime i finish using the software, everything will come clean?

hey and welcome to the forum. malwarebytes will send everything it delete to the its chest before it delete the file so you could easy restore one if shown later to be safe. so i would suggest you let malwarebytes do that. but 1000 sounds a bit strange have you used avast all the time or have you resent switch to avast? what have you used before and do you scan your computer or have been unused for some time?

I deleted almost all the detected files by malwarebytes. Then, i realized that the software is completely gone from my computer. It doesn’t exist anymore. I have been using Avast since i bought the laptop, almost a year ago. Right now i am using microsoft security essentials and Avast.

Not that this seems like a avast problem but what software or files did malwarebytes remove? you can reinstall the program which would fix it, if you feel malwarebytes is falsely detecting one of your programs then you would need to bring that to there attention on the Malwarebytes forum.

You also need to decide if you want avast or microsoft security essentials as you shouldn’t be running both on the same system together.

could you post or attach the malwarebytes scan log ?

okay this is one of the log… there are so many since i did it many times.

okay is really long so it doenst allow me to paste it all on here, and i dont know how to attach file on here, so i did a upload link

Is not really an avast problem but i wonder if there is a feature where i still use my software, but after i am done using it, everything will be back to before. So i don’t have to worry about the malwares after i used it.

If the program is bringing in malware then you are better off not using it, from what i can see in your logs nothing has been done with the files ( no action taken ) any reason why? i would let malwarebytes delet and clean this if i were you, note that you also dont have malwarebytes set to scan file system or p2p - both of those options should be ticked.

Also from my earlyer comment you need to remove either avast or microsoft security essentials, you shouldn’t have both on the same system.

Yes i removed microsoft essential.
for the log… i didn’t know how to “select all” at first, so i manually selected a few at the bottom…
until i figured out i can right click and select all…and when malwarebytes tries to delete everything, it went not responding because i think there were too many files to delete.
so i had to scan it a couple times and manually select files each time.
“malwarebytes set to scan file system or p2p - both of those options should be ticked.” - where are those options?

In the MBAM UI click settings then click on the scanner setting tab and tick the clear boxes.

My mistake! I just realized there is no p2p box to tick, just the file system :P.

MBam Pro Settings.

ok thanks, those have been checked before

Just to be on the safe side i recommend running the MSE removal tool from here http://singularlabs.com/uninstallers/security-software/ to clean up any leftovers to avoid future problems.
