Manual Update Didn't Work (Errorcodes within)

Trying the auto update returns “The package is broken.” I tried repairing and updating through Control Panel in Win7. This didn’t work, so I tried a manual update, this didn’t work so now I’m stuck. Here’s the error message:

Can’t install VPS update. Please report the following errorcodes:
Ver:6.0.1.289
SI:0x00000005
ST:0x20000011
LE:0x00000000.

I don’t know which exact edition of avast you have (Free / Pro / AIS). Download the latest stable version of same edition you already have. For Pro / AIS, download the respective Trial.

Then run the new installer over your current avast installation, and when the new installation procedure finishes, reboot.
