Manual update hangs

Hi

Manual update of avast hangs the update process. Neither software update nor patch update is working when i manually update it.
OS : WIndows 7 x64.
No other Antivirus available.

I am planning to buy Avast Internet Security. but this is a pathetic buggy version of antivirus that has been released to public.

What version of Avast Internet Security (AIS) are you using?

Did this problem start after doing an upgrade or new install? Are you using a trial version?

Is there anything in the firewall blocking Avast…please check to make sure everything pertaining to Avast is Allowed.

You can also try an Avast Repair (for Win7):

  • Control Panel
  • Programs & Features
  • Uninstall a Program > Select Avast Antivirus
  • Click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair
  • Click Next and follow.
  • Reboot.
