Dear All,

Since I use Avast at home without internet connexion, I would like to know how to upgrade by hands both the avast program and the data files of known viruses. To be more precise, what files do I have to copy in order to have the last upgrated version of avast ?

It’s simple.

  1. To update Avast itself you should download the setup file of your locale (language) and then run it on your computer. When asked choose “Update” and follow the instructions.

  2. To update the data file you should download vpsupd.exe (there it is: http://www.avast.com/eng/update_avast_4_vps.html) and run it on your computer. It will update the database without any need to restart neither your PC, nor your Avast.
