Many viruses detected on my pc by avast, are they false positives?

I made a link to my original post. No one has replied and I would appreciate help or to know if anyone else is experiencing the same problem.

Posted there. Hope it helps.

As soon as I installed Malwarebytes avast went crazy! it detected two threats and then would not let me do anything except block it.

Alright I did a complete system recovery, and all should have been well. i installed avast again and after a few days the same infections came up, the only thing I did: watch youtube. nothing else. Scan after scan reveals more of the same, I dont know if they are fps, i submitted files to avast. boot time scans do nothing, but find one virus. I tried other fixes. should I just dowload another AV and see if it detects the viruses?

Which browser are you using…?

Edit: Just saw the other thread. If I were you, I would follow Essexboy’s advice…!!

I am not that pc savy and my pc does not have the programs to unzip files. like I said complete system restore to factory settings so there are many programs missing. did another scan with avast and i got another temp file related to avast infected by the same virus, moved to chest and sent to avast. I looked around the forums and have read many people having similar problems with high amounts of viruses detected repeatedly. How can I get the avast team to look into the avast software to determine whether this issue is related to the software itself?

You can go here to get a free ‘unzip-software’ called 7-zip…!!
