may be a simple fix but need help

Hello
Recently I recieved an email in my outlook express that I cant delete nor will it open. If i highlight it to open it, my outlook express freezes. My outlook express recieves mail and is working fine but I just cant get rid of that pesky email. I ran avast and freeantispyware and neither program found a problem but obviously I have some sort of a problem with that email. Like i said outlook express runs fine unless i make a mistake and highlight that one email and it automatically freezes. any suggestions how i can get rid if that mail would be much appreciated.

Hi Pondus,
Thanks for trying but I downloaded and ran malware, it found 2 registry problems and deleted them but it still did not remove my troubled email from my outlook express. It is driving me crazy, lol. I am still open for any other attempt at a solution. thanks Jeff

I highly doubt this problem is malware related as I don’t know any malware that can have selective control over an individual email in a .dbx file.

What folder is it in ?
What is so different about this email, large attachment, etc. ?

If it is in the inbox, which you shouldn’t be using for general email storage, why not move the other emails out of the inbox and try deleting the inbox folder. OE would recreate it the next time it is opened.

If that also gets blocked, close OE and find where the .dbx files are stored (this is the OE email folders, they aren’t folders but .dbx database files). Once you have found them find the Inbox.dbx file and either delete it or if you aren’t feeling that adventurous rename it Duff-Inbox.dbx and restart OE.
