MBAM Blocking Avast

Hi, I guess this would be the place for this. Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware isn’t playing nice with Avast! for some reason. I keep getting this error message about every minute or so:

Successfully blocked access to a potentially malicious website: 199.80.55.207

Type: outgoing
Port: 59998
Process: avastscv.exe

The only changing variable is the port. From what I can tell this has only started in the last hour or two as of this posting. It seems to do this regardless of what programs I have open. I should mention I’m running on Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.

This doesn’t seem urgent but it seems really strange that MBAM keeps blocking Avast!

It isn’t blocking avast as such, as the avastSvc.exe is the main avast service and it controls the various shields. The Web Shield routes all http traffic through its localhost proxy, so all MBAM sees is avastSvc.exe as the originating process, which is incorrect.

This is either you trying to connect to this IP via your browser or possibly a link in a site you’re viewing redirecting of getting content from that IP address.

See image of the IP address details, does it ring any bells (probably not) ?
What site were you on when this alert occurred ?

Yeah, none of that looks familiar.

Not quite sure what site I was on. Filestube is the only site I can think of that I browsed today that was even remotely sketchy.

Well there could either be an advert or almost anything pointing at that IP from another site. Unfortunately not knowing exactly what site you were at, there is no way to investigate further. Though given that MBAM blocked the IP even if this were malicious nothing should have got on your system.
