Hi,
On a new install of Vista 32 bit MBAM resident loads up late…is it due to its clash with Windows defender or Avast 5 Free Ed…or is this a normal occurence?
Thanks!
Hi,
On a new install of Vista 32 bit MBAM resident loads up late…is it due to its clash with Windows defender or Avast 5 Free Ed…or is this a normal occurence?
Thanks!
It’s normal. By default, the mbam service is set to delayed start up to prevent conflicts with other antivirus.
Thanks mathboyx215 for the info…btw on XP it loads up with Avast?
I don’t use xp so I don’t know why it loads up with avast. You might want to ask that question at the malwarebytes forum:

On my XP Pro system I have avast! set to load after other system services and MBAM’s GUI mbamgui.exe delayed load with WinPatrol to emulate the Vista and Windows 7 capability of loading MBAM’s service using Autostart (Delayed start)
Keep Windows Defender on Vista and Windows 7 up to date by using its portal:
http://www.microsoft.com/security/portal/Definitions/ADL.aspx
I do not use Windows Defender on my XP Pro system.
Is there any Windows Defender by default in Win XP Pro…I don’t think so?
On Vista is a delayed start… a min plus, after Avast & mbamgui.exe.
Thanks!
No, XP has no WinDefender by default.
However, if you wish, you can download from MS and install it.
Thanks for confirming…I got confused…On XP Pro it loads with Avast with out any conflict.
The reason why I do not use Windows Defender on XP Pro is that it intereferes with MBAM real time protection and has caused the system to crash.
The version on Vista and Windows 7 is vastly different from that for XP and does not check nearly as much as the XP version.
Can MBAM service be set at auto from delayed, on Vista or will it clash with Windows Defender?
Thanks!
Do not mess with MBAM service.
It is that way for a reason and if you want to know the technical details then ask over in MBAM forum:
