MBR and boot sector virus with removable media

I’ve installed Avast home edition 4.7. I worry about infected removable media such a USB memory drive.
Does the Avast which is running on a PC detect and prevent infection a boot sector and a MBR virus on it when it is attached to the PC?

I know the standard shield configuration says scan boot sector on floppy disk drive, but it does not say MBR something and USB drive something.
Do you know how about this?

Yes. Check MBR list of detected viruses…
It works on fixed, floppy and USB drivers :wink:
