Avast found out MBR:.\PHYSICALDRIVE0\Partition2…
But it is impossible to remove…

What I have to do?!

hi! the ESET scan didn’t find a threat, there was no text log to send. I took a screen in case…

It’s faster and I think it’s clean. There is one thing… Microsoft wants to install security uppdates but it doesn’t work.
It’s Microsoft .NET framework 1.1sp1 for windows xp. What should I do?

Please download Farbar Service Scanner and run it on the computer with the issue.

[*]Windows Firewall
[*]System Restore
[*]Security Center
[*]Windows Update
[*]Press “Scan”.

We need to take several steps for the next part…

Download dotnetfx_cleanup_tool.zip from the following site:

When prompted, click Open, then click Extract Now.

Among the files that you extracted, double-click cleanup_tool.exe.

You may be prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation. Type the password, or click Continue.

When the Do you want to run the .NET Framework Setup Cleanup Utility? message is displayed, click Yes.

Note this tool may be in English only; however, it also works for other language versions of Windows.
Click Yes to accept the license agreement.

In the Product to cleanup window, select a .Net Framework version that you want to remove from the drop-down list, and then click Cleanup Now. (We want to clean up Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 SP1)

After the .Net Framework is removed click the Start button, then click Shut down, then click
Restart.

Download and install the following components:
.Net Framework 1.1 SP1:

Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 >> http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=A8F5654F-088E-40B2-BBDB-A83353618B38

Restart the computer.

Visit Windows Update again, and then check for and install updates.

I’ve been trying to mail log file from dotnetfix but it’s too big. I cleaned with dotnetfix and tried to install microsoft .net framework again without results.
23 other microsoft uppdates were install.
and now? ???

Hi,

Go ahead and try to install them and let me know if you have any problems. If you have problems with those as well we may need to just uninstall all the copies of .net framework and reinstall them. :slight_smile:

Let’s check for what updates we need.

Please open OTL.

[*]Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.
[*]When the window appears, click the None button near the top (it may looked greyed out)
[*]In the Extra Registry section change it to All
[*]Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.

When the scan completes, it will open 2 notepad windows, OTL.Txt and Extra.txt. Please post the Extra.txt.
