MCShield

Is using MCShield still necessary? Last update was on 2014.

MCShield sgnatures is there for avoiding FP not for detection

As far as I’m aware there are functions that don’t require signature updates. But I’m sure there is a later update than 2014.

@Pondus: Oh, this all time i thought MCShield is for detection and not for FP. LOL :D.
@DavidR: What do you mean by later update than 2014? Do you mean by program upgrade?

@Pondus: Oh, this all time i thought MCShield is for detection and not fore FP. LOL
MCShield is for detecting, mcshield signatures is for the program to avoid FP

My last update is 2016.2.21.1
Version 3.0.5.28

Oh now i see. I will be installing MCShield right now. Thanks for clearing up the air up on my end

Yes a Program version later than 2014; but the main site changelog only shows the last version as v 3.0.5.28: 12th April 2014. So that needs updating.

I’m sure I saw one later than that on a download site and MCShield forum shows the 2016 last update on 2016.02.21.1.

Yes you are right DavidR, the main site needs updating. Other download sites mentioned that the last release date was on 2016

Last program update (version release) was 2014. MCShield website does not show signature update

@Pondus: The link that i provided it mentions version number: 3.0.5.28 and release date is February 2016. That is what DavidR said that one of the download site on the McShield forum mentions the release date was on 2016

This program works!

Got a 32 GB Flash drive for free from MicroCenter the other day, plugged it in, and it cleaned the new, fresh, and unused drive.

Oops!

That’s great

What do you mean by Oops!

@ Staticguy,

Oops! means drive should have nothing on it since it was brand-new and never used.

But MCShield did find something, quarantined it (Trj), and cleaned. One of those shipping in-the-channel things?

Always have this running so you don’t forget to turn it on.

@Pondus: Thanks for the great infos

@Mchain: Yesterday I installed it and i have this always running. You never know when an usb is/might be infected with malware.
