Just trying Avast.
Cannot get my Vivotek camera to stream to FX. It does stream to IE but Vivo->FX requires extensions.xpi which don’t seem to run nor does the streaming. Sorry but not going to use IE.
Everything worked before Avast.
Uninstall Avast → all works.
Reinstall → fail.
So we can rule out firewall etc. etc.
Any settings I need to adjust?
Thanks
does it work if you turn off webshield?
Yes. That does it.
But it is unsatisfactory to disable a protection feature so is there a switch or tweak I can do?
Tks.
Edit:
The above is true and camera streams OK but the Client settings page produces a FX “load error” and a FX Software Installation modal to install npVivotekInstallerMgt.xpi.
So now if I run that it goes in a circle. If, however, I cancel the modal, the settings page shows and as far as I can see functions correctly. So there is still an ‘inconvenience’ here.
Ok. No solution = goodbye avast (and good riddance to windows).
- Which avast!..?? (Free/Pro/IS/Premier)
- Which version…??
- OS…?? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP…?)
- Other security related software installed…??
- Which AV(s) did you use before avast!..??
