I had a bad idea.
I uninstalled Nod 32 .Many peaple said Avast is good.
Big mistake.
After the start the pc freeze.
I was unable to uninstal avast, to use system restore and to stop the pc.
I restart the pc many time and i had the same prolem.
I started in safe mode and i could uninstall avast .
I don’t think so… I’ve tested NOD32, a good antivirus, but you should do a very good uninstall before installing avast.
What were the error messages?
System restore will restore only drivers… it’s not a full restoration like Norton GoBack. Sorry, won’t work because it’s not suited for this kind of trouble but only drivers restoration.
Well, this really sounds like a conflict between 2 antiviruses - we have already seen so many of them. Of course I cannot say for sure - but I’d bet that NOD32 uninstaller didn’t remove all the drivers and some were left.
For sure, there are 4 residents for it: AMON (file system monitor), DMON (MSOffice files monitor), EMON (MSOutlook email monitor) and IMON (Internet protection). One of them is crashing with avast! residents…
After uninstall and reboot it should be completely removed! Did you find indiciations in your system that NOD was still present? Like in the program files folder,…ect,…
Maybe you can scan your system with Norton SystemWorks if you have this?
