You read that right. Unbelievable! Merely saving avast options and rebooting AS SUGGESTED has DELETED all my file associations and desktop icons! All the folks complaining in this old post are totally right to complain:

This software “avast” has significant quality control issues! And that is devastating for me AND for avast: I come from AVG that I had paid over £1000 in over a decade, was initially a strong advocat then the opposite when AVG started to bloat their initially fantastic software with CRAP.

So, FINALLY, I quit them this week, decided to test “avast”, and what do I get to experience?

The same crap! Bloated, bloated, bloated rubbish. Features no one needs nor wants. Only their MARKETING dpmts believe “people want this shit”.

Whatever, this is “avast”‘s decision, okay. But what is NOT okay is to DELETE innocent user’s and future customers’ file associations and desktop icons upon required restart! Any vendor doing that should be in jail.

I trust that a responsible officer of “avast” responds here instantly and solves this abyss on MY system.
Let’s see.

The two sw seem SO similar, my immediate thought was “Is this not the same company, with different face?”
Funny eh? How customers see through things much quicker than apostels can imagine?

So, where’s the HELP from a responsible officer of “avast”?

It is an INSULT. MY system destroyed. And these “avast” guys still running free.
Unbelievable.

These “avast” guys have already cost me a fortune in lost productivity. And they haven’t even TRIED yet to repair the damage they did!

Oh and by the way, how daft must a team be not to notice in their OWN forum here that the “verification” characters are IMPOSSIBLE to decipher?

Well, I am just glad this “company” ended up with the other crap company among “anti virus software providers” = pain providers.

The two REALLY fit well together, no doubt here.
