Metropolitn Police Ukash ransom

Hi

Woke up this morning to find my second old pc locked with a warning screen pay £100 etc to get your pc unlocked. I usually use avast but I think I hadn’t got round to updating it so I don’t think it had been on the last few days.

This virus / malware seems very nasty it wouldn’t let me boot into safe mode I made an kaspersky anti virus boot disc which found 2 entries and after doing that I could get into safe mode. Then I ran Malwarebytes after updating it which found 2 entries cleared those ran it again found nothing. Then rebooted into into normal mode and same problem occured. Got back into safe mode uninstalled avast6 and installed avast7 couldn’t update the definitions (don’t know why) ran a full scan anyway didn’t find a virus but found lots of files which were password protected and it couldn’t scan them.

I think the virus is hiding itself in password protected files and neither avast or malwarebytes seem to be able to access these to be able to deal with them.

Am currently running malwarebytes again.

Would greatly appreciated any advice have not encountered anything quite like this before

Thanks

follow this guide and attach…not copy and paste…logs from malwarebytes / OTL / aswMBR

Hi here are the attached files you wanted for some reason OTL would not produce an extras file ??

Hi can’t attach the MBR file as forums says you can’t attach .dat file types ??

It should be aswMBR.txt

Ah thanks sorry my bad was looking at wrong file

Are any of your personal files encrypted ?
